The Strength card indicates a need to master your fears and conquer your demons. It speaks of staying grounded and being steadfast in the face of danger, no matter what curve-balls the Universe throws your way.
You may need to put on a brave face and tackle the things that frighten you or take you outside of your comfort zone. You may also need to be kind to yourself and tend to your own needs with the same loving care that you’re used to doling out to others.

The woman as a representation of our higher selves has tamed the lion, our shadow self. She has tamed our base passions and desires that need to be controlled. And so this card is about having inner strength in order to gracefully deal with life and its problems in a manner that examines our courage and compassion.
The Strength card doesn’t necessarily mean brutal physical strength, but that inward strength we all have. This card reflects a compassionate approach. When you see this card in a reading you are like the woman who offers love and patience to the dangerous lion in order to tame him. In Mythic Tarot and Greek Mythology, you meet Heracles, a mortal that became a god. Heracles was known as one of the greatest hero’s because he faced and conquered the biggest and most ferocious lion, Nemean.
In the Strength card, Nemean represents a metaphor for the Sun, a situation that feels hot and burning, easily raging out of control and requires you to stand up for yourself and face the ferocious lion within, or the outer lion that roars at you!
The Strength card shows Heracles entering a cave – the cave represents a metaphor for your inner hidden fears, and fear can stop you straight away, if you let it! With determination, you can conquer almost any fear, for it truly exists in your mind.
