Tarot Card of the Week — Strength

Strength-MythicTarot Card of the Week: July 20-July 26
The Inner Strength Of Your Spirit

This week you might need to stand up for yourself and face a situation that feels like the hot fiery Sun. If you do not stand up for yourself and head for the hills, you’ll end up in your cave of fears or procrastination!

In Mythic Tarot and Greek Mythology, you meet Heracles, a mortal that became a god. Heracles was known as one of the greatest hero’s because he faced and conquered the biggest and most ferocious lion, Nemean.

In the Strength card, Nemean represents a metaphor for the Sun, a situation that feels hot and burning, easily raging out of control and requires you to stand up for yourself and face the ferocious lion within, or the outer lion that roars at you!

The Strength card shows Heracles entering a cave – the cave represents a metaphor for your inner hidden fears, and fear can stop you straight away, if you let it!  With determination, you can conquer almost any fear, for it truly exists in your mind.

You need to tap into your inner strength and face the situation that roars at you with all your courage and strength to become the hero that wears the skin of the lion, who faces the heat of the ferocious Sun!

The Story About The Ferocious Lion – Nemean

Heracles was one of the greatest hero’s because, as one of his Twelve Labors, he faced and conquered the ferocious Nemean Lion. This lion had a pelt that protected it from any weapon man had and it was terrorizing the countryside. Heracles found it in its lair, a cave with two entrances. After trying to kill it with many weapons to no avail, Heracles blocked off one of the entrances, attacked and killed the lion with his bare hands by strangling it, then took its pelt, with head attached, to wear as protection.

Have You Ever Faced The Lion?

Have you ever been in a situation when the lion within you raged out of control? Did you let your anger get the best of you because of your pride? Did you end up in situation that brought out the ferocious beast inside of you, directed at someone, like the hot fiery Sun?

Or did you face the ferocious lion, a person or situation that made you feel like you stepped into the hot raging fire of the Sun? Did you stand up to this person or the situation, or did you head for the hills and end up in your cave of fears?

You need to remember that fear can stop you straight in your tracks! You may be burned or scratched a few times in trying to gain control, but it’s important not to give up and let that inner beast called fear control you! The inner beast inside of you is represented by the lion. You need to develop the courage and faith to overcome your most stubborn obstacle of fear and protect yourself by controlling your environment so it does not control you!

My Interpretation Of Strengthkiss-lion

Tamed the Lion – The Scary Kiss! The Strength card represents the lion’s energy and your will to succeed. The lion is connected to fire: a fearful symbol, hot and burning, easily raging out of control.

On your road of life, you will lose your fear, but not your respect for fire or the knowledge of how to tame the lion! In seeking to gain control, you may be burned or scratched a few times, but the important message of the Strength Tarot card is not to give up. Muster the courage to keep going until you succeed.

There are times in life when everyone faces the kind of fear that can paralyze. Whatever your situation is, fear of failure prevents you from succeeding, isolates you from the world. You walk a path bounded on both sides by the abyss of fear, which you must confront with an exertion of courage to solve your issues.

With determination, you can conquer almost any fear, for it truly exists in your mind. Fear of success also gives rise to procrastination because success carries a heavy responsibility with it. It is much easier to procrastinate and live with the “Someday I’ll…” philosophy. Though this philosophy may be easier to live with, it is not the answer. Stand up to your obstacles, and address them. You will find the people you fear have half the strength you think they have.

royal-lionThe Reverse Meaning Of Strength: Strength’s Journey Stopped. You Are Not Willing To Fight The Lion!

The lion is dominating you, and you do not know how to control the lion.

The lion tears you into pieces because you are too timid and unwilling to fight. Your surrender to fear allows the beast’s victory…

Your fears can be overcome with one step at a time. You just need to take the first step and you’ll get your crown back!
