Here is the Psychic Scoop Weekly Astrology Forecast for the week of Dec 21, 2020 – Dec 27, 2020:
We start this week with the Sun moving into Capricorn on Monday. This marks the onset of Winter (the Winter Solstice) for those in the Northern Hemisphere. From an astronomical perspective, this is the time when the Sun reaches its southernmost declination and manifests as the shortest day and longest night of the year. (It’s exactly opposite for those in the Southern Hemisphere).
Astrologically it represents the Sun (ego, will, Self, etc) entering the sign of the Sea Goat, the archetype known for its ability to rise from the bottom of the deepest sea to the top of the highest mountain. As we tie up the last few days of the year, we may be all thinking “thank God this one is almost over” and making plans to do more, better and bigger next year. That’s the Sun in Capricorn.
Also on Monday, Jupiter conjuncts Saturn for the first time in almost 20 years. The last Jupiter / Saturn cycle completed in May of 2000, right on the heels of a seven planet line-up in Taurus. This time the conjunction occurs at 0° Aquarius 28′ right around 5pm (UT).
As Aquarius is the sign associated with progress, innovation, radical ideas and humanitarian impulses, we’re likely to see these areas take center stage. In fact we’re already bearing witness to many of them. We’ve been seeds that have planted toward these ideals for the last several months.
In the most simplistic terms, Jupiter expands while Saturn restricts. But these opposing forces can balance one another out quite nicely, especially when involved in a harmonious aspect. Jupiter in Aquarius is all about exploring and promoting far-reaching ideals, where Saturn in Aquarius wants to apply them. Bring them together at zero degrees and we’re capable of moving mountains.
Jupiter and Saturn moving into Aquarius breaks the Air sign draught we’ve experienced for the last few months. At zero degrees we’re looking at new beginnings and fresh starts, and not just with Saturn and Jupiter. The Sun and Mercury are both at 0″ Capricorn and by Tuesday the Moon will have joined in at 0° Aries.
This is a first quarter Moon, which is naturally tense as the Sun and Moon are at hard angles). The Moon is in a Fire sign, along with three other planets, while the Sun is in an Earth sign, along with its own three other planets.
In general the first quarter square forces us to step outside of our comfort zones, and since it’s in Aries this time, there may be risks involved. The Aries Moon is bold, brave, courageous and fearless. But it can also be reckless and impatient. The Capricorn Sun wants order and discipline, which the Aries Moon is not going to wait around for.
Add to that a Mars / Pluto square (on Wednesday) and we may see fireworks. Remember that squares are all about conflict and tension. And this is also a first quarter square which represents internal conflict or tension.
This can be a “shoot first and ask questions later” transit. It can manifest as power struggles and hidden resentments that boil the surface when you least expect it. Find a physical outlet for your frustrations if you don’t want them to come at you from the outside. Martial arts is a good option, as are other types of strenuous exercise.
By the end of the day the Moon — still in Aries — joins in, squaring Pluto and conjuncting Mars, before it goes void of course just before midnight. It’s still void of course until around 11 am on Thursday, when it moves into Taurus.
The Moon in Taurus is earthy, sensuous and calm. It’s also very practical and sensible, though it can also be slow-moving or overly cautious. It prefers to savor meaningful experiences, much like someone would savor a meal or a bottle of fine wine.
At the same time, Mercury squares Chiron, bringing feelings of guilt and regret to the surface. You may be questioning whether you’ve done enough to help others or whether you’ve said the right things. You may also be more gullible than usual so be careful you don’t fall prey to some shyster’s sob story.
On Friday, that Taurus Moon meets up with Uranus and Mercury trines them both. The Moon is dignified in Taurus where it’s exalted. The conjunction to Uranus can act to calm down some of that erratic Uranian energy the trine to Mercury can help you to make sense of it.
The Mercury / Uranus portion of this configuration is great for brainstorming and thinking outside the box. As Uranus is the higher octave of Mercury, bringing them together in a harmonious (trine) aspect allows for a much more natural route to that higher consciousness.
On Saturday, the Sun squares Chiron. As squares are generally tied to conflicts (both internal and external), this one can manifest as a bit of an existential crisis. It pits your ego, will and life-force (the Sun) against the part of you that doesn’t feel worthy. Or that feels you can never quite earn the approval of others.
It creates a need to remedy an imbalance between the desire for self-actualization (the Sun) and the urge for self-sacrifice (Chiron). Heading up a volunteer program or taking part in something meaningful in your community are good ways to actualize this transit.
