Weekly Astrology Forecast

Here is the Psychic Scoop Weekly Astrology Forecast for the week of Aug 18 – Aug 24, 2025

As we start this week on Monday, Mercury sextiles Mars. This is a recurrence of an earlier transit from a few weeks ago, before Mercury turned direct. This aspect is great for making plans and then following through with them. It’s all about being on the same page with those you are working with and getting things done with minimal aggravation.

It’s excellent for taking the initiative and working with others to make things happen. With Mercury in Leo, it’s great for taking on a leadership role, for being assertive, and for expressing yourself with confidence. And it’s perfect for breathing new life into projects or trying your hand at journaling, copywriting, or publishing.

The Sun trines Chiron on Tuesday. This aspect is compassionate and caring. It can open you up to the pain and suffering of others that you might normally overlook. It brings empathy and understanding to the forefront, making it a little easier to put yourself in someone else’s shoes.

Wednesday’s Cancer Moon is moving up to form a conjunction with Jupiter and then Venus. Both the Moon and Jupiter are dignified in Cancer, as the Moon is the natural ruler and Jupiter is exalted in that sign. Add Venus to the mix and you have a really kind, sensitive, nurturing, and caring triplicity.

This is a Balsamic Moon, which means that it’s coming to the end of its 28-day cycle and will appear as a thin crescent in the darkened sky — perfect for viewing the triple conjunction involving Venus, Jupiter, and the Moon. It’s best viewed in the early morning hours (from around 2:00 to 4:00 a.m.) before sunrise. At that point, the Moon will be between Venus and Jupiter, and if the sky is clear, it should be a sight to behold. You won’t be able to see it at night, as these planets set after the Sun.

Ancient astrologers made a practice of observing these configurations up close. Or as close as you’re going to get when you’re millions of years away. They believed in a concept called Cosmic Sympathy, which posited the belief that everything in the universe is interconnected and influential. Imagine what it must have been like for them, gazing up at the night sky and bearing witness to these planetary interactions. Of course, we can do the same today (and should, whenever possible). If you’re up in the wee hours of the morning and get a chance to go outside and connect with that Venus / Moon / Jupiter configuration firsthand, by all means do.

On Thursday, the Moon will have moved into Leo, directly opposite Pluto. The Moon in Leo is generally confident and optimistic; it understands the concept of needing to love yourself before you can love someone else better than anyone. But the opposition to Pluto can put that to the test. It can see you focusing more on what (or whom) you may have lost in recent weeks than what you may have gained.

But with so many planets at this time at 0 and 1° — we have the Moon at 1° Leo, Saturn at 1° Aries, Uranus 1° Gemini, Neptune at 0° Aries, and Pluto at 1° Aquarius — that Leo Moon will be ticking them off one by one. As a result, you’re likely to experience a full range of emotions on this date, from sadness and frustration to optimism and enthusiasm.

The Sun moves into Virgo — and in mutual reception with Mercury — on Friday. These Mutual receptions tend to strengthen the natural influences of the planets involved, uniting them in a collaborative effort. In this case, with Mercury in the Sun’s sign and vice versa, the art of empathic communication should be greatly enhanced.

The Sun moving into Virgo begins the last month of Summer for those in the Northern hemisphere and the last month of winter for those in the Southern hemisphere. This solar placement shifts the focus from creativity, self-expression, and play (Sun in Leo) to duty, diligence, and work. It’s a good time to take stock and consider the changes you want to make. Focus on changes to your diet and health, your relationships with colleagues, and service to others are all featured during this time.

Astrology forecastWe have a New Moon at 0° Virgo 52′ on Saturday, at around 6:00 a.m. (UT) or  2:00 a.m. EDT.

As New Moons always represent new beginnings and opportunities to start new, this one — in Virgo — brings opportunities to be of service to others. It prompts you to examine the improvements you can make in your own life and the contributions you make to the world at large.

Virgo is the sign associated with work, efficiency, duty, and service, among many other things. During this New Moon cycle, you’d be well served to focus on these areas, as well as on the areas associated with the house it falls in your natal chart.

In what areas do you need to shift your own focus toward being more productive and of service to others? Where do you need to make improvements? What aspects of your Self / your life / your relationships do you need to put in more time and effort? These are the questions you want to be asking yourself during this cycle.

This particular New Moon squares Uranus and is also the focal point of a Yod configuration involving Saturn / Neptune, and Pluto.  As if the Virgo Moon isn’t analytical and exacting enough already, you can expect all these connections to the outer planets to result in your brain working overtime.

Venus also squares Chiron on Saturday. With this transit in play, you may have challenges related to establishing clear boundaries and clarifying your values. This aspect can bring martyring tendencies to the surface. Causing you to regret or feel guilty about what would ordinarily make you feel good. And prompting you to make sacrifices that you’re likely to resent later on.

As the week comes to an end, on Sunday, the Sun completes its square to Uranus. This aspect was well within orb at the New Moon, and may have been more prominently felt at that time. That’s because a New Moon always involves a Sun / Moon conjunction, meaning that they both would have squared Uranus at the same time.

This aspect can be combative and argumentative. It pits the ego / will energy associated with the Sun against the rebellious / antagonist Uranian impulse. It can create friction, especially if you sense that someone is trying to tell you what to do or how to act. This aspect can be defiant and combative, so if you’re dealing with someone who’s acting like an unruly teenager, your best move will be to disengage.

That’s it for this week. See you next week!
