Daily Tarot — Five of Blades

Five of Blades

Five of Swords affirmation: I know that winning doesn’t always have to mean being right.

Today’s card is the Five of Blades, from the Zirkus Mägi Tarot, created by Doug Thornsjo and published by Duck Soup Productions.

The Tarot of the Zirkus Magi was designed to complement a fantasy novel written by Doug Thornsjo, and also as a stand-alone working deck.

This hard-to-find deck has sold out several times. This deck’s Third Edition is still available through the link above.

The Five of Blades (Swords) is associated with the Air sign element and corresponds to the 5 of Spades in traditional playing cards. The astrological correlation is Mercury in Aquarius.

This card is sometimes called the “bully card,” a reference to the idea that for someone to win, someone else has to lose.

It’s associated with conflicts, disagreements, competition, disputes, and so on. It’s called “Defeat,” and some decks and “Resignation” in others.
