Mars is at 29° Leo — an anaretic degree — and conjunct the fixed star Regulus as we start this week on Monday. The 29th (anaretic) degree of any sign is a critical degree, usually seen as a transcendent or culminating degree. It could manifest as a sense of urgency to get act, to get things done, to finish things up, or to tie up loose ends. As Mars is known for being daring, brave and sometimes forceful, and Leo wants to be noticed, this transit can see you (or someone in your orbit) wanting to make their mark in a big big way.
Regulus is the brightest star in the Leo constellation, also known as Cor Leonis, or the Heart of the Lion. It’s also one of the four so-called Royal Stars , along with Aldebaran, Antares, and Fomalhaut. Regulus is known as the Watcher of the North and is associated with the Archangel Gabriel as well as the Summer Solstice, which starts on Saturday.
