The Empress is the third numbered card in the major Arcana, situated between the High Priestess and the Emperor. The astrological correlation is the planet Venus.
This card is associated with feminine strength and power. She is the female counterpart to the Emperor card. Where the Emperor is associated with masculinity, leadership, ambition and authority, the Empress represents femininity, nurturing, fertility, and growth.
She represents femininity, fertility, beauty, sensuality, motherhood, mothering, pregnancy and childbirth, nature, and the Mother Earth.
