Tarot Card of the Week: Aug 21 – Aug 27, 2017

The Eclipse

This week’s card honors the New Moon Total Solar Eclipse, which is taking place on Monday, August 21st at 28° Leo 52.’

The Eclipse card is the Whispering Tarot’s version of the Moon card, which from an astrological perspective is tied to feelings, emotions, intuition and primal instincts, as well as the unconscious mind.

It relates to security issues and needs which can translate to insecurity, uncertainty, fears and apprehensions. These are all emphasized in the Tarot’s version of the Moon.

It can manifest as confusion, uncertainty or paranoia, especially when we try to analyze it logically, which is foreign to the realm of the Moon.

Just as we can’t fully appreciate the beauty of the Moon in the light of day (consciousness), we struggle to grasp its archetypal meaning through the lens of logic or reason.

The Moon

Tarot Card of the Week: Aug 15, 2016  – Aug 21, 2016

The Moon

This week we have a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius and what better card to depict the powerful energy that accompanies it than the Moon card from the the fabulous Shakespeare Oracle?

The Moon card traditionally speaks of struggling with feelings of anxiety over something that just doesn’t seem to be panning out they way you’d planned.

It represents our unconscious hopes and fears and is loaded with shadow material. This card tells us that things are uncertain, unsettled and unfinished and that the outcome is still very much up the air.

The Moon in this version is portrayed by Shakespeare’s Three Witches, who foretold MacBeth’s fate early on in the tragedy of the same name.

The “Weird Sisters,” (as they were also known) were mysterious, ambiguous and contradictory, much like the Moon in the night sky.

Tarot Card of the Week – The Moon

MoonThe  Moon — June 17 – 23

This week we offer a look and interpretation of the Moon as depicted in the Beautiful Creatures Tarot created by,  J.R. Rivera  (Author), Jasmine Becket-Griffith  (Illustrator).

In this illustration the little nymph sits cold and alone. She feels a little fearful as the dark energies or forces “outside” herself bring her to a low vibration.

This week, you may want to reflect on the energies that could be influencing you, particularly the dark thoughts or feelings you may be having regarding a certain circumstance or situation.

The Moon in the Tarot often represents your “shadow self” your darker side, or your tendency to have a few negative thoughts. You may be fearful of your surrounding or not feeling like you are in control of a situation.

Others around you, like the card shows—outside forces—could be putting you in a position of fear or negative thoughts and feelings. This could be a good time to shake that off and get back on track with positive and assertive affirmations.
