Tarot Card of the Week: Nine of Pentacles

nine of pentaclesTarot Card of the Week:  April 24 – April 30, 2017

Nine of Pentacles

Nine of Pentacles, the card of the week, comes from one of my favorite decks, the Deviant Moon Tarot by Patrick Valenza.

The deck was given to me as a gift. At first look of the box, I wasn’t sure I would like it but felt a pull to open it and now I use it a lot in my readings.

If you should be lucky enough to have the Nine of Pentacles come up in the present or future of your reading, it can mean something good in a monetary or material situation is coming your way.

Looking at the picture on the card, you see an independent and confident woman taking a walk with her little pet. There are pentacles dropping down around her indicating good things are coming to her.

The Nine of Pentacles represents The Lord of Material Gain, the element of Earth, the direction of North and the Season is Winter. The Zodiac signs are Taurus, Capricorn and Virgo. Dark grapes are the herbal associated with the nine of pentacles. Dark grapes are good for your blood, high in iron and the leaves are often used in astringents. This card usually signifies monetary / material gains. It can come from unexpected sources like an inheritance, winnings, settlements or monetary gifts.

Tarot Card of the Week: Seven of Pentacles

Seven of Pentacles

Tarot Card of the Week: Dec 5 – Dec 11, 2016

Seven of Pentacles

This week you may be feeling frustrated over something that’s taking longer to manifest than you’d hoped for. While the urge to push ahead anyway and move things at a faster pace will be strong, the Seven of Pentacles encourages you to do otherwise.

It says it’s time to step back, test the waters, and assess the progress you’ve already made before you plan your next move.

It’s about getting your ducks in a row and taking the time to finesse your plans before you act on them — even if you’re tempted to push forward prematurely.

In this version of the card — from Patrick Valenza’s Deviant Moon Tarot — we see a little witch figure standing before a tree under the light of a New Moon. Perhaps she needs some of the tree’s life essence to cast a spell. But she pokes at it with her wand and draws blood.

We can see all seven pentacles growing on the limbs of the tree, but there are no leaves and no flowers: they too are not quite ripe for the picking.

There’s a sense with this card that it’s just not time; she’s just not ready; and there are still preparations to be made.

Tarot Card of the Week: The Ten of Pentacles

Ten of Pentacles

Pentacles are a suit of money and material things, tangible in the here and now. The number ten represents completion through perfection.

This week’s card, the Ten of Pentacles, is from the Deviant Moon Tarot by Patrick Valenza.

While the picture on the card may seem a little ominous, and people fear a pentacle, I promise this is one good card to get in a reading.

The Ten of Pentacles is represented by the Lord of Wealth, it is the element of Earth, the earth signs of the Zodiac: Taurus, Capricorn and Virgo, the season is Winter, the direction of North and the herb is the Wild Yam. The wild yam is used as an estrogen replacement, disorders of the intestines, diverticulosis, gall bladder pain, and for increasing energy.

The key parts of the Ten of Pentacles are prosperity, property inherited wealth, more than may have been expected. Material security founded on the work of others, family matters stabilized.

Now let’s take a closer look at what these things can mean for you in the different areas of your life:
